The Original
ErasingCalculating4a by: Teun Hocks
Biography: 1947 born in Leiden, Holland, Ausbildung Academy voor Beeldende, Kunsten, Breda, 2008
Significance: He will digitally color his black and white negatives and will play with constructed realities that are hard to believe, yet connectable in ideals and feelings.
Concept/Aboutness/Idea: I think the idea in this photo is that you work hard on one thing, and later find it useless and erase it from your mind. Also I think it is about the two-sidedness that one person can hold within themselves.
Method: He took two photos of himself in different positions to create this image.
Motivations: He wanted to convey the feeling of defeating your own hard work.
Your Opinion: I love this photo because as a college student I have felt exactly this way myself on many occasions. |
